Safety profile of N13-9-1

No toxicity is observed

No toxicity is observed with high oral doses of N13-9-1 in animals.  Groups of mice were given oral doses of 50, 100, 200, 300 milligrams per kilogram body weight per day (mg/kg/day) for up to one week. Mice were monitored closely for toxic signs. No abnormality was observed. No abnormality was found in peritoneal organs.

Safe treatment of pancreatic tumors in animal studies

For treatment of pancreatic tumors (see Anti-cancer Animal Studies), 100 milligrams per kilogram body weight per day oral administration of N13-9-1 five times a week for five weeks significantly reduced tumors and caused no weight changes or any other indications of toxicity.

Circulates throughout the body intact

Our studies indicate that the compound, taken orally, is absorbed in the digestive tract without being metabolized or activated, and it circulates throughout the body intact, exerting its selective effect against cancer cells.
